I came across this video from one of my parent's vacations in 1991. That's 21 years ago. I was talking to my friend Cindy that lives in Arkansas, she use to live down here in Florida and clogged with us. I told her to check out our website. As we were talking her husband Ricky saw the video and she told me this video was taken in the town they live in. He recognized it right away.
Wow, what a small world. I hope I can visit sometime. This video was taken in Mountain View, Arkansas. I hope to find the name of the clogging group that is dancing. We sure do miss Cindy clogging with us.
Janet Sileo responded to this video on my youtube channel and said this about it.
"I know exactly who this group is! These groups were all part of the Ozark Foothill Cloggers! The group dissolved in the 90s. This is absolutely Mountain View, Arkansas in front of the Stone County Court House (probably during the Ozark Folk Festival). The clogging group was lead by Nona and JD. The fourth set is of a teenager clogging on the pavement, that was behind the court house in front of Aunt Minnie's Little Yellow House. Your parents caught a local celebrity in Mountain View (Aunt Minnie Miles); she is clapping in the background starting at 3:40; look for the funny hat and you will see her. I was actually clogging to Grandma's Feather Bed with the second set of girls (which starts at 1:28). The Ozark Rhythm Cloggers (lead by Gina Butler who was originally an Ozark Foothill Clogger) continue to carry on the clogging tradition in Mountain View, Arkansas."
